“I love drawing and coloring. I love bright colors and bold lines. This is why most of my art incorporates these two things. I can turn a doodle into a masterpiece and I think it’s one of the most enjoyable things on earth to do. This is why I fell in love with printmaking – woodcuts are bold lines printed on any color of fabric or paper I want. I believe that there is always something to make, I just have to let my guard down, have a seat, and make it.”
Tara Marolf
Tara studied printmaking, drawing, design, & painting at North Park University (B.A.).
“For me art is an escape, a place for exploration, and a source of inspiration, solace, and joy. I enjoy pushing the dynamics of color and contrast, exploring themes and media of all kinds, and getting lost for days in the meditative abandon of creativity. My styles range from realistic to abstract, from imaginary to observational, and my subject matter reflects my life experiences, surroundings, and interests. Right now my favorite things to paint are birds and portraits of people doing their favorite things.”
